Love As We Know It

Give it all away
To one you love
Risk your sanity
For one’s happiness

Toss your pennies
Into the wishing well
For a complete stranger
You know inside out

Dangle on the edge
Holding a thread
That keeps them stable
But what happens when it breaks?

They will fall
And you tip
Into what lies below
Only they will know

It is worth it though
The pain and hurt
For their content
Keeps you sane

A kind of relation
Thicker than blood
A kind of bond
Only the two will know

And you think
How can I live without you?
When at one time
You did, and you lived

So what does it mean?
Underneath it all
Beneath the false masks
And untruthful tales

It means that you will
Never be apart
Even miles away
Even through the bad, and the worst

It means that you will
Go on living
Even after they have passed
For you have done before, will do it again

It means that there is
No meaning to it all
Just let it be
Just let it go
